Hong Kong/Chinese movies I seen lately

Another list of what I been watching lately

An Empress and the Warriors
Enjoyed it overall, not disappointed. Donnie Yen rules! But gotta say it's more of a Kelly Chen movie :) Girls rock!

Breaking News
Highly disappointed. Attempted to watch it 3 times and fell asleep in between movie. Overall, a bore.

Gen X Cops
Really enjoyed it. Really like the eye candy! Yummy!! Stephen Fung - my first Chinese/Hong Kong crush! Daniel Wu - another cutie! Nicholas Tse - cutie #2.

Gen Y Cops
Sequeal to Gen X Cops but minus Nicholas Tse, kinda sad because he was the main character. Not as good as the first part and add Edison Chen, not so bad after all.

Legendary Assassins
Love the fight scenes and stunts!

My Schoolmate, the Barbarian
Slapstick comedy with some fighting. Funny and very stupid. Stephen Fung and Nicholas Tse, I love those two :D

Warlords
Jet Li. Andy Lau. Takeshi Kaneshiro. Awesome trio. This is Jet Li's best acting ever! Acting from all three is very impressive. Takeshi is so pleasing to my eyes :D

Hong Kong films I've seen lately

Even though I watch Asian films, I don't write detailed reviews about them. There are plenty of sites for that.

I am just going to list a few from the top of my head that I've seen.

14 Blades (2010)
Although it didn't get good reviews, I enjoyed it a lot! The fighting and storyline was interesting to me. Donnie Yen is awesome. The only disappointing thing is Vicki Zhao being a damsel in distress.

Flash Point (2007)
I'm a huge fan of Donnie Yen. The fight scenes are very well choreographed and modern.

Ip Man (2008)
Based on Bruce Lee's master. Donnie Yen plays Master Ip. Awesome movie!

Ip Man 2 (2010)
Donnie Yen is so effing awesome and the most underrated martial artist. Not as great as the first part the last 10 minutes of the film is worth it :)

Mulan (2009)
This isn't the Disney cartoon version. It is the live version. You'll be disappointed if you expect to see Mushu. It's not a bad film but felt the film focus too much on the love angle. Vicki Zhao did a great job.

One Nite in Mongkok (2004)
Cast is good - Cecilia Cheung & Daniel Wu. However, the direction was slow but yet good. Well acted.

Painted Skin (2008)
Another Donnie Yen film but I'm disappointed. Not because he's hardly in the film but because it's a very slow, boring film. Maybe another watch?

Storm Warriors (2009)
It's not as good as Storm Raiders but I still enjoyed it! Sometimes higher expectations hurt you. The only complaint I would have is that subs went missing halfway with the film.

True Legend (2010)
Besides being visually stunning, the martial arts scenes worth worth mentioning. Jay Chou has a guest appearance.

Japanese movies I've seen lately

Even though I watch Asian films, I don't write detailed reviews about them. There are plenty of sites for that.

I am just going to list a few from the top of my head that I've seen.

Departures (2008)
Best Foreign Film from the Oscars 2009. Well-deserved! A must-watch!!!

Goemon (2009)
I'm not a fan of Japanese movies but this one is an exception. Especially since it's an action movie. The other few Japanese movies that I enjoyed were not action-packed. I also have to add that the lead actor, Yosuke Eguchi, is hot!!

Machine Girl (2008)
Dumbest Japanese movie ever! Stratch that. The dumbest movie ever! Fake blood, stupid scenes, urgh....don't let the dvd cover fool you

Korean films I've seen lately

Even though I watch Asian films, I don't write detailed reviews about them. There are plenty of sites for that.

I am just going to list a few from the top of my head that I've seen.

Addicted (2002)
Film started off slow but it picked up. Well worth it for Lee Hyun Bun alone. The storyline had interesting twists.

Face (2004)
More gory and bloddy than scary. Not one of the best but worth it watching only once.

Ghost (2004)
Pretty good twist. Huge fan of Kim Ha Neul & Nam Sang Mi and was not disappointed.

Voices (2009)
Worth watching if you're a horror fan. A film about being cursed.

Whispering Corridors (1998)
Honestly, I was very disappointed in this film since it's a horror classic. Too slow, too boring. Maybe the other sequeals are more my taste?
