Cmovie - Tempting Heart (1999)

Synopsis - SenAsian

SoGoodReviews , & Takeshi.com

Ignorant of Chen Li's unspoken feelings for Ho Jun, the unrequited Sheo Rou is unrelenting in her pursuit of him. They end up together, only to separate due to the disapproval of Sheo Rou's parents. These segments set in the 70's are evocative of the golden era of Taiwanese romance movies. The star-crossed lovers meet again unexpectedly in Tokyo, culiminating in a brief affair, with Sheo Rou. Once again, they part ways only to reunite in the 90's. It is only then that Sheo Rou disovers that Ho Jun has been married to Chen Li all along. Chen Li also discovers the infidelity and undying love between her husband and her old best friend, deciding selflessly to retreat to fulfill their yearning.

I can not believe all the awards it has gotten. Just shows to me that just because a movie wins award doesn't necessary mean it's good.

So you be your own judge. Go watch it to see the hype. Or for Takeshi, Gigi, or Karen. Personally, I thought it was too slow paced and boring.

Even the hottie Takeshi couldn't save the movie for me!

I like Karen too but I felt she was underused. She actually was waaaaay better than the overrated Gigi.

Gigi is plain boring. I don't even find her cute. Reverse her and Karen's roles, maybe I'll like her more. Nah, probably not.

Even though this still is gorgeous, believe me, that's the best part of the movie, just looking at this part.

Cmovie - Lavender (2000)

Synopsis - CineMasie
Photos - Takeshi website

Athena is an aromatherapy tutor but can't heal up her wound at heart. One day, she finds a broken-wing angel falling on her balcony. The angel needs love to keep him alive until he can go back to heaven, whereas he can't fall in love with someone. A scented romantic affair is gradually developed between Athena and the angel.

Takeshi is just too adorable! I'm becoming more infatuated with him. He plays the angel with broken wings who do not know how it feels to be loved.

Kelly Chen plays Athena. She is still looking for that special scent. She has lost her love and is heart broken. I've always adored Kelly and think she's beautiful.

I really like the Takeshi and Kelly pairing.

Lavender is suppose to be a relax, calming scent. Honestly, to me, I don't like the smell.

Even though Lavender got really bad reviews, I liked it. Yes, there were many WTH moments, but it was an enjoyable movie.

Jmovie - Sweet Rain (2008)

Synopsis - AsianMediaWiki
Photos - Google & Asian Home Cinema

Chiba (Takeshi Kaneshiro) appears seven days before a person dies an unexpected death. His job is to observe the person for seven days, and then decide either to ‘execute’ or ‘pass over’. Getting his work quickly out of the way, he goes to the listening booth of a CD shop and indulges in his favorite pastime, listening to ‘humanity’s greatest invention’: music. He is...a Grim Reaper. Today, again, in the rain, he waits. His subject, her death due in seven days, is Kazue Fujiki (Manami Konishi), 27. She works for a manufacturing company, in the complaints department. Exhausted after her day, she emerges from her office. It’s time for the Reaper to go to work.

Interesting notes about the movie, taken from AsianMediaWiki -
-- Based on the novel ‘The Accuracy of Death’ (Bungei Shunju Publishers) by Kotaro Isaka.
-- Kotaro Isaka long resisted offers to have the book filmed, he is said to have given his ready consent if Takeshi Kaneshiro were to be the star.

One reason to watch Sweet Rain - enough for me to watch

I'm not a big fan of Japanese movies. The ones I end up watching, I wasn't impress with. However, with an exception of two - Be With You and Love Letter.

Ever since I saw Takeshi in House of Flying Daggers, I've always found him very attracted. But now, he's taking it to another level of hotness. He can act and sing.

Takeishi plays a grim reaper who gives the thumbs up or down if that person is going to die. But when encountering with the humans, he disguises himself as a human too.

Manami Konishi plays a very timid girl who thinks she doesn't deserve to live because everyone she loves ends up dead.

There were no romantic chemistry between the two but they worked well together.

I am an animal fan! So seeing the black lab was a plus. I always wanted a black lab. He is Takeshi's side-kick who guides him.

The movie is definitely a must watch! Not only for Takeshi fans but for the storyline.
