Sha Po Lang refers to three stars, each representing a person's personality and fate, in Chinese astrology - Qi Sha, Po Jun and Tan Lang, or Killing, Obliteration and Avarice.

A crimelord (Sammo Hung) covers his tracks so well that he always gets away from all crimes he does, assisted by four fast-talking English lawyers. A professional assassin (Wu Jing), who never fails on his assignment, appearing out of nowhere. Four policemen so eager to nab the crimelord that they will stop at nothing, insofar as taking justice into their own hands. Standing in their ways is a new police inspector (Donnie Yen) who goes strictly by the book. Thus begins an intricately woven high-octane action thriller that is full of complications, of explosive actions, exhilarating car chases, intense shootouts and realistic fist to fist combats from the award-winning screenwriters Szeto Kam-Yuen and Wu Wei Lun.



One of my favorite Hong Kong flicks ever! I love how the story is told - very fast paced and keeps me wanting to see what is going to happen next. When it first hit dvd, I remember watching it, my hubby was going to the store but ended up staying watching the whole movie with me! He was so invested in the movie from the beginning that he didn't want to miss out any scenes. That's how good this movie is!



Donnie Yen is the most underrated martial artist ever!!! More people should know about him! The guy is so calm but kicks ass! I've seen him in the Iron Monkey but still not enough Donnie!



The slick martial art was old school with no special effects, that's what made me love it even more. I miss the old school style but still love what is coming out. Ahem, Stephen Chow movies!



I've had success in recommending this film to all my friends and family. Each one of them loved it. However, I know that someone out there will dislike this film. It's okay. I loved it. That's all that matters.

Ji-suk is a Korean Language & Literature major who dreams of becoming a writer. He starts delivering newspapers part-time. He goes to a hair salon to cut his long hair. A charming woman calls him by name. She is none other than Hee-jin, his junior high classmate. Dreaming of becoming a hair designer, Hee-jin is a senior hair designer at the salon despite her young age. Ji-suk is drawn to the dignified beauty. Hee-jin is also drawn to the untainted pureness of Ji-suk. Their paths cross by chance a few more times and the two grow closer. Finally, Hee-jin suggests a 'one month romance.' "Neither one of us can say 'Let's break up' before the month is up! After a month, we part ways grandly! What do you think? Fun, huh?" Ji-suk is caught off guard. Seeing this, Hee-jin smiles at him sweetly... Ji-suk who ponders over everything seriously. Hee-jin who is filled with playfulness and is cheerful. They have 0% in common but together, they learn of a new world unfamiliar to them. Their romance is more splendid than they expected. But one day, Ji-suk's first love, Sung-hae, shows up. Majoring in film, Sung-hae is the lead singer of a band and very cool. Hee-jin gets jealous over Sung-hae and starts to fight with Ji-suk. It is the first time they argue since their month of romance began. And to make things worse, Hee-jin is faced with an enormous decision...



Finally I get to watch this movie! It took me a while to finally come around to watch it. I needed my Kmovie fix since it has been a while that I've seen any Kmovies. Definitely didn't want to watch any love triangle or romantic comedy. My friend told me that I would like this simple love story. Yes, indeed, I did!

Jo In Seoung plays the dorky, sweet guy very well. I've only seen him in a few films and enjoy watching him every time. The way he squints when he's shy is really adorable. He plays Ji Suk, the class President from high school who loves to read books and hopes to write a book one day. Sin Min Ah is such a cutie! She looks a bit too young at times because of her innocent face. Playing Hee Jin, she is this straight-forward, truthful girl who is just carefree and living life. Ever since high school, she has always wanted to become a hair stylist and living that dream. Sin Min Ah is so good. I can not wait to see more of hers!! Park Jeong Ah plays Sung Hae. She is really cute but the dreads has got to go. Even though she suppose to be this rock star, the dreads didn't fit the image. Maybe blue/red streaks in her hair would've done it. She didn't have a huge role but it was a significant one -- the girl who Ji Suk used to have a crush on and he had a crush on her too in high school. The movie is titled Madeleine for the popular cookies in France. Ji Suk tells Hee Jin about having nostalgia moments when eating them. What I love most about the movie is it shows who your soulmate really is meant to be. No matter what happens, you're bound to be together. The movie is slow at times but it just tells a simple, sweet story.

Cmovie - Kung Fu Dunk (2007)

Shi-Jie (Jay Chou) grows up in a martial arts school and he is well versed in kung-fu. With his skills and his good reflexes, Shi-Jie also excels in basketball, especially the slam dunk technique. On the pretext of helping Shi-Jie find his family, Wang-Li (Eric Tsang) invites him to join the university's basketball team in hopes of making money out of him. There Shi-Jie faces new challenges on the basketball team, especially with team mates Ting-Wei (Bo-Lin Chen) and Xiao-Lan (Baron Chen). With the upcoming championship games and the appearance of Li-Li (Charlene Choi), the team must put aside their differences and personal emotions to face their common rivals.

One of my friends told me that I should watch Kung Fu Dunk because it's the basketball version of Shaolin Soccer. Now, I have to say that I didn't like Shaolin Soccer too much the first time I saw it. But I first watched it with a closed mind, didn't watch it as a comedy and WTF moments. Afterwards, I loved Shaolin Soccer. It's also one of my kids' favorite movies of all time. They watch it all the time. So of course I would be so happy to watch Kung Fu Dunk.

It has the cutie Jay Chou, who I did not recognize at all with that hair style. Jay Chou wasn't the heart throb that I wanted him to be. He wasn't even funny but looked like an arrogant bastard who thought he was all that. I didn't feel sympathetic towards him at all.

Along with Charlene Choi, who I also did not recognize. I kept thinking to myself, she is such a cute nerd, lol. Charlene was wasted. It was interesting to see her without her "twin" Gillian. All she did was sports her four-eyed looked and looked damn cute but did not have much else to do.

Before I watched the movie, I didn't go into it with high expectations at all. But I still disappointed. Storyline was very weak. Plus I wanted to see more games! I wanted the games to be against other people, not stir up problems within their own team! I couldn't compare it to Shaolin Soccer at all. It would be a unfair.

Then I read on Karazen, that this movie was adapted from a Japanese comic book called "Slam Dunk." I have to read the comic book so maybe I shouldn't be so harsh on Kung Fu Dunk. But right now, I still am disappointed.
